Michael Clarke Duncan Dead at 54
Actor Michael Clarke Duncan Dies Following Heart Attack
Sad news ... actor Michael Clarke Duncan is dead at age 54.
The actor passed away over the weekend after suffering a heart attack in July.
The heart attack looked to have taken a toll on his health, as he was hospitalized and had been receiving treatment since his cardiac arrest.
TMZ reports that sources say Duncan's death came suddenly.
His fiancee, Omarosa Manigault, who was in his Los Angeles hospital room, left for a short time and returned to find Duncan had passed away.
According to his rep, Duncan "never fully recovered" from the July heart attack, when Manigault had found him in cardiac arrest and performed CPR.
His rep tells TMZ, "[Omarosa] Manigault is grateful for all of your prayers and asks for privacy at this time. Celebrations of his life, both private and public, will be announced at a later date."
Duncan starred in many movies, including The Green Mile, for which he was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award.
His Green Mile co-star, Tom Hanks, released a statement about Duncan's passing: "I am terribly saddened at the loss of Big Mike. He was the treasure we all discovered on the set of The Green Mile. He was magic. He was a big love of man and his passing leaves us stunned."
