Michael Jackson's 'Death Syringe' to go to Auction
The King of Pop's last hit.
Michael Jackson's fatal drug syringe, the needle that was used to inject him with a fatal dose of painkillers by Dr. Conrad Murray, is set to go on auction in Las Vegas. Own this piece of morbid memorabilia for just $5 million.
An anonymous seller, who somehow secretly obtained the needle, has announced the auction for June 25 -- the one year anniversary of the iconic singer's death.
The Jackson family has reportedly heard about the sale and is consulting lawyers on how to stop the auction.
As a source told The Mirror:
"This is one of the sickest lots ever put up. The syringe is no longer needed in the inquest or in murray's forthcoming trial but the moral implications don't bear thinking about.
"The guy who has possession of the needle has been in meetings with his legal team, making sure it is legitimate and his to sell. The plan is to flog it for up to $5 million in a big Vegas casino but he's been told he may have to sell it somewhere that doesn't have 'reciprocal legal agreements with the United States', such as Brazil or even Libya."
Jackson died after receiving a lethal dose of drugs, including propofol, a powerful tranquilizer. His doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter. He denies all charges.
