Michael Lohan Blackmailing Lindsay With Rehab
Lindsay Lohan's daddy doesn't think she's fine.
If it appears that we are suddenly in Lindsay's corner wishing her well, it's because her dad Michael Lohan said he will stop talking if Linds goes to rehab. Michael has issued a statement claiming that he has details about the alcohol and prescription drug addiction that both 23-year-old Lindsay and her mother Dina suffer, and if the two Lohan ladies don't straighten up their act, then he'll go to the press and spill the pills...er, the beans.
Michael Lohan claims he regularly receives drunken messages from Lindsay and his ex-wife Dina regarding the wellbeing of their daughter. He adds that he's so concerned about the two women's problems that he feels he has no choice but to jump over their lawyers' heads and release information about their habits. He has released a statement reading the following:
"To begin with, I have been trying for a year to help Lindsay with her problems PRIVATELY through Lindsay, her mom, her attorney Blair Berk and even her new attorney Shawn Holley and the courts.
I have the records to prove it. But when that didn't work, and the calls I was getting from Dina and Lindsay needed immediate attention, it was recommended to me to go public, like Martin Sheen and others did, in order to put pressure on Lindsay.
I wasn't going to let people hear Dina's drunken rants about Lindsay, and I certainly wasn't going to let people hear anything about Lindsay, but now that Dina and Lindsay continue to lie and deny their problems, and even make up stories about me, NOW you will see and hear Lindsay's calls and texts. I am NOT the liar, they are. Hopefully then, they will realize how deceptive and in denial they are and finally realize that lying and denial are part of their addictions.
I am sorry I had to take this route, but I have tried and tried to help Linds and I have been lied about long enough."
We'll tell Michael Lohan what we told Jon Gosselin last week right after Jon dumped his divorced-dad boyfriend: stop issuing public statements. Dina Lohan says she's this-close to a restraining order and a ceast-and-desist letter that would express the Lohan women's right to privacy.
