Michael Lohan: Lindsay's Real Problem Is Prescription Drugs [POLL]
Michael Lohan Claims Doctors Are the Culprits Behind La Lohan's Recent Displays of Bad Behavior (and Acting)
Remember how adorable and fun Lindsay Lohan was in Mean Girls? And then remember how awful, and bizarre-looking, she was when she hosted Saturday Night Live in March? Her dad, Michael Lohan, says it isn't drugs that have dulled her talent and ruined her looks. Well, not illegal drugs, anyway.
No, Michael Lohan, who has more than his fair share of experience with drug abuse, claims his offspring is instead caught up in a habit of abusing prescription drugs, some of which, he says, she doesn't even need.
"I have to say this … SNL, Lindsay was not using any illicit drugs or drinking, but she still is on prescription drugs that they gave her," Michael Lohan told Celebrity VIP Lounge.com. "And the meds that they give her are meds that they say she needs, but she doesn't need them. But they kind of make her flat. She's not acting at a full potential. It's like the screen is down over her."
Who are the "they" to whom Papa Lohan refers? We can only presume "they" are doctors -- there has to be someone with a medical license involved somewhere along the line for Lindsay to be getting her hands on these prescriptions repeatedly, right? There has to be someone telling her she needs them? Or listening and prescribing when she says she needs them?
Back to Michael Lohan: "And now when (Lindsay) did Glee, I said, 'Linds, get off the damn medication and let people see who you really are.' And for a couple days before Glee, she went off this stuff. And there were tears in my eyes when I watched Glee. That was Lindsay. Yeah, that was her acting. That is Lindsay Lohan at the Parent Trap, Freaky Friday and Mean Girls potential. That is what she was."
Hate to buzzkill the proud dad's ramblings, but, well, Lindsay wasn't so hot on Glee, either, and, as Celebitchy points out, she was only on screen for a few minutes. And her performance was most definitely not up to her old Mean Girls-standards. Plus, there were all those rumors at the time about her showing up for latest "comeback" opportunity late and keeping the Glee cast and crew waiting for her.
The bottom line: at this point, when she's been given chance after chance after chance, by Hollywood and the law, to get her sh … uh, self, together, does it even matter what kind of drugs she's on?
Prescription drugs or not, one thing's for sure: Lindsay has a lot riding on her role in the upcoming Lifetime movie Liz & Dick, in which she's playing another scandal-plagued Hollywood star, Elizabeth Taylor.
Do you think Lindsay Lohan's recent poor performances are because of drugs, prescription or illegal?
