They know how to get to Sesame Street

When you're flipping through day-time television channels, you probably don't tend to stop on Sesame Street, unless you either have children or are incredibly nostalgic. But that might all change when you see the line-up of celebrities they have appearing for their 40th season.

Obviously, the 40th season is huge for Sesame Street. We can't believe they've been on the air for 40 years and they seem to be just as popular as ever with the young crowd. And while they've always had some celebrity appearances from time to time, they have a whole slew of celebrities lined up for the upcoming season.

In fact, on November 11, Sesame Street's 40th birthday, Michelle Obama is scheduled to appear on the show once again. She did say it was one of the best things she's done, so it makes sense why she wants to make a return to Elmo and friends.

Another big name making an appearance on the show is Jake Gyllenhaal. He'll be appearing for Shalom Sesame, a 12-part series of episodes that will teach Jewish-American kids about Jewish culture.

But that's not all; there are plenty of other celebrities scheduled to appear on Sesame Street, like Cameron Diaz, Hugh Jackman, Paul Rudd, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Ricky Gervais, Adam Sandler, Eva Longoria, Christina Applegate, and Matthew Fox!

Phew, that's a lot! Will we soon be setting our DVRs to catch Sesame Street instead of American Idol?
