Michelle Williams Taking a Break from Acting
Michelle Williams Has No Plans to Appear in A Movie Any Time Soon
With Disney's "Oz the Great and Powerful" readying for release on March 13th, Michelle Williams (who plays Glinda the Good Witch of the North) says that she has no idea when she'll next act.
Talking to Eonline.com about what she has coming down the pike, Heath Ledger's ex says that, "I haven't worked since I made this movie, which is over a year ago. Really I don't know (what is next), I don't know. I'm really happy to not have anything looming - except my hair. I'm really working on my hair growing out."
Williams, 32, who's originally from Kalispell, Montana, has said in previous interviews that she keeps her hair in a short pixie cut as a nod to Ledger who passes away from an accidental prescription drug overdose in 2008. As she told Elle magazine in 2011, "I’ve really grown into it. I feel like myself with short hair. And it’s been a really long time since I had long hair, five years. Of course, the only people who like it are gay men and my girlfriends. Straight men across the board are not into this hair! I cut it for the one straight man who has ever liked short hair and I wear it in memorial of somebody who really loved it."
And, now, clearly she's realized that she's ready to move on. "I think I'm ready. It's on its way, slowly but surely. I think I'm ready. That's why I've stayed with short hair for so long - the mid-stage is insufferable. It's really hard on your self-esteem."
Hopefully her beau, "How I Met Your Mother" star, Jason Segel, whom she's been dating for over a year, will help her out in that department.
