Mike Tyson to Play a Killer on "Law & Order"
Mike Tyson Steps Into the Acting Ring with a Gig on Law & Order: SVU
Mike Tyson, the former undisputed heavyweight boxing champion of the world, may have bitten off more than he can chew when he made the decision to enter the realm of acting.
Lately, the embattled 46 year-old pugilist has been making the forray into acting. Sure, he's done cameos aas himslef on "Entourage" and in "The Hangover," but now he's been looking for bigger, meatier roles.
Over the summer, he took a huge leap onto the Broadway stage in a one-man show he co-wrote with his current wife Kiki. The autobiographical show, directed by Spike Lee, was called "Undisputed" and chronicled his life from his inauspicious Brooklyn-based childhood through current day scenarios. It was universally panned by critics and has since closed.
Undeterred, the fighter is stepping back into the acting ring with a new guest-starring role on Law & Order: S.V.U. According to Deadline.com, Tyson will play Reggie Rhodes "a murderer on death row whose violent actions may in part be the byproduct of a horrible childhood."
Veteran actor Ed Asner also co-stars in the episode alongside series regulars Mariska Hargitay and Andre Braugher.
