Miley Cyrus Releases Statement On Tour Bus Crash
Deceased bus driver "wlll truly be missed."
We reported Friday afternoon that one of Miley Cyrus' tour buses crashed Friday morning. Miley was not on the bus but she was part of the caravan, and in the crash nine of her crew sustained minor injuries. But the worst outcome was that the bus driver who drove the flipped bus was pronounced dead. By Friday evening Miley Cyrus had stepped forward to share a statement with the public on the passing of bus driver and Austin, Texas native Bill Douglas, 53.
Members of Miley Cyrus' camp took to her Web site to release the following thoughts:
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of Bill "Uncle Bill" Douglas. Members of our tour are like members of our family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family in the midst of this tragedy. He will truly be missed."
The statement was signed, "The Cyrus Family."
.
The bus was traveling Friday morning through Virginia to prepare for Miley's Greensboro, North Carolina show scheduled for Sunday. Two 911 calls were made from the scene on I-85 in Virginia when it appeared that Douglas had gone into cardiac arrest (authorities don't know whether this caused the accident or happened after). Latest reports suggested that Sunday's show would still take place, but at press time the tour section of Miley's Web site had been removed temporarily.
