NY Fashion Week Moves - Bye Bye Bryant
NY Fashion Week is no longer homeless!
As we all know by now, this is the last year that NY Fashion Week will be held in the tents in Bryant Park. Sadness. But don't cry for your Louboutins just yet. The show will go on and it just might be better than ever.
Why, you ask? Well, Mayor Bloomberg has been working with the CFDA and IMG Fashion for two years in order to find the perfect home. And find it they did. Drum roll, please...
Get excited for Lincoln Center September 2010! The shows will go on in Damrosch Park, located at the southwest corner of the Lincoln Center plaza, at 62nd Street between Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues. And yes, that means there will still be tents involved.
Why the move? Damrosch Park allows for 87,000 square feet for shows, while Bryant Park only allowed 70,000 - roughly a 25 percent increase. That's a whole lotta pret-a-porter.
And the opera's right next door. Fancy.
