Nate Berkus Gets a Talk Show Deal
Is he taking Martha's place?
Everyone knows and loves Nate Berkus as the handsome interior designer who's always on Oprah's show and always making people's living space dreams come true. Well, now word is that Nate Berkus is getting his own talk show. But has he intruded on Martha Stewart's space?
Nate Berkus's new talk show, The Nate Berkus Show, is set to air on NBC this fall, in cooperation with Oprah's production company, Harpo.
Call it the Oprah effect, if you will, but it seems that so many huge talk show hosts get their start from appearing on Oprah's show. Remember when Dr. Phil was a regular? Now it seems like he's had his own show forever. And, of course, we can't forget that Dr. Oz has always been an Oprah favorite. Oh, and do you remember way back when Rachael Ray was a constant Oprah guest? Nate Berkus has been appearing on her show for years now, so it's about time he snagged a show of his own!
It's being said that Nate Berkus actually disrupted Martha Stewart's show, causing her to leave NBC. Could it be true? Martha Stewart did just announce her show will be moving to the Hallmark Channel, which seems quite random. And now reports are surfacing that NBC only wanted one decorator and they chose Nate. But Martha does so much more than interior decorating!
Though it's obvious Nate's show will be about home decorating, I can't help but wonder how it will set itself apart from all the shows on HGTV as well as shows like Extreme Home Makeover. Nate definitely needs to do something different, but I have faith that he can.
