New App Lets You Delete Chris Brown From the Internet
'Brownout' App Removes Chris Brown from Internet
There really is an app for everything.
Case in point; the new app designed expressly for Chris Brown haters, called 'Brownout.'
If you're tired of hearing about Brown and all the nonsense he's been up to, the Google Chrome app Brownout lets you completely remove any mention of the singer from your web browsing.
Sam Sutherland, a producer for the Toronto music blog AUX that created the app, told CBS Local, "It is nearly impossible to go on the Internet without reading something about him, he is always doing something outrageously moronic."
He added, "All we had to do is build a frame where it recognizes the word and ignores it and literally erases it. You can see everything except his name and his face."
Any images of Brown have a box over them, while mentions of Brown in headlines also get blacked out.
AUX had also developed a similar app for Nickelback (called Nickelblock). We thank them for that.
Imagine this application for other over-exposed celebrities though? There must be some way to shut down the near-constant mention of the Kardashians online.
