New Celebrity Magazine Will Be "Kardashian" Free
Get Ready for a More "Grown Up" Celebrity Magazine
Bauer publishing, the folks who bring you InTouch and Life & Style magazines, have decided to break the mold. They're launching a new magazine that's geared towards the more mature reader. Hey, no one ever said you stop liking celebrities when you hit 30.
Launching this week (for an introductory price of 25 cents!) the magazine, called "Closer," caters to the 40 + crowd.
“We’re aiming at the stars that the 40+ woman grew up with,” said Annabel Vered, editor-in-chief. “There will be no Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber or Kim Kardashian in Closer.”
So, what WILL we read about in this week's innaugural issue? Valerie Harper, Suzanne Somers, Michael Douglas, Tom Hanks, Robert DeNiro, Dolly Parton, Brooke Shields and Goldie Hawn to name a few.
Does reading such a magazine appeal to you? Do you care as much about what the older stars are doing as you do about the younger ones?
It will be interesting to see how it does -- they're printing two million copies -- but hey, for a quarter wouldn't you buy it just to satisfy your curiosity? The real proof will be next week when the "regular" $3.99 sticker price hits.
Would you read "Closer" magazine?
