New Fangled Product Debut: Bottle Made from Harvested, Recycled Ocean Plastic
Method Debuts Special Ocean Harvested Plastic Bottle
Thank you, Method eco-friendly cleaning product company, for coming out with a new plastic bottle that's made entirely from recycled ocean plastic. What's ocean plastic? Perhaps you've heard of that giant island comprised of nothing but our plastic waste that's floating around in the Pacific? Bingo.
The only downside is that the bottles are only available at Whole Foods
But at least it's a start.
Method has found a way to take ocean plastic waste and recycle it into their packaging.

While we look for ways to reduce waste, especially plastic that finds its way to oceans, this new development is hopefully just the beginning.
Adam Lowry, co-founder and chief greenskeeper of Method, shared, "Our goal with ocean plastic packaging is to show that the most viable solution to our plastic pollution problem is using the plastic that's already on the planet. Method's ocean plastic bottle demonstrates in the extreme that recycling is possible."
He added, "By recycling and reusing plastic to make our bottles, we turn off the tap of plastic flowing into our oceans and take the first, most important step toward solving the ocean plastic problem."
Bravo.

To achieve this recycled packaging, Method employees worked with local volunteers from Sustainable Coastlines Hawai'i and the Kokua Hawai'i Foundation to collect plastic off the beaches of Hawaii.
As if their efforts aren't enough, Method will donate a portion of the proceeds from this new hand and dish soap product to these organizations.
