New Jake Gyllenhaal Prince of Persia Poster
We're miles from Donnie Darko now.
As if there aren't enough blockbuster movies to worry about in 2009, the first poster for next year's Prince of Persia film has been released, and it reveals a dusty, majestic Jake Gyllenhaal.
The movie is based on the hit video game series about a "rogue prince" (Gyllenhaal) and a "mysterious princess" (Gemma Arterton) who must prevent a magical dagger from falling into evil hands. The posessor of said weapon has the power to release the Sands of Time, and is thus able to manipulate the past, present and future.
So think of it like a live-action Aladdin, except darker and a whole lot more rippling muscles and swaying skirts.
The film opens in May of 2010, and also stars Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina, probably as king and evil sorcerer, respectively.
