New Moon News: Dakota In, Drew In the Running
Chew on this.
Some updates for all you Twilight fans. If you can't get enough of the vampy saga - and its ongoing real life saga - you'll be happy to know that there are some new developments in the New Moon realm.
Dakota Fanning, who was rumored to be in the running to play old-school vamp, Jane, in New Moon, has confirmed that she will indeed take on the part of the dimunitive but super-powerful blood sucker. As fans of the books (yes, we've read almost all of them - don't judge), we like this bit of casting.
Dakota really resembles Stephenie Meyer's vixen-like Volturi and we think she'll be able to pull off the sweet/savage thingie quite well. Plus, she's a fan of the series. "I am a very big fan of the books. I read them all and Jane is an interesting part." Indeed, Dakota, indeed.

In other blond-starlets-interested-in-Twilight news, Drew Barrymore has announced she's officially in the running to helm the third installment in the series, Eclipse. "I'm one of the directors that is being talked about, which is great, because I'm a director now," Barrymore said in a recent interview.
Always good to declare yourself, Drew. Just in case someone didn't get the memo.
But Drew says nothing's for sure. "But you know, they'll make their choice."
We're not really sure if Drew would be a good choice to direct Eclipse. We can't really get a good read on her directorial chops. Her desire to makeout with Robert Pattinson? Now that's something we could see.
