New Pizza Vending Machines Will Bake You a Pie in 2.5 Minutes [VIDEO]
The Vending Machines Cook the 'Za So Quickly Thanks to Infrared Ovens
Recently we've seen the introduction of vending machines that dispense everything from shoes to cupcakes, but the latest vending machine to be introduced to America really takes the cake, or rather, the piping hit pizza.
A company based in The Netherlands is about to introduce to the United States Let's Pizza, a vending machine that will bake a hot pizza pie and deliver it to the waiting vending machine customer in just two-and-a-half minutes.
The machines, which will be placed in malls, airports, hospitals, restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, universities, gas stations, bus stations and amusement parks throughout the country, will bake a 10.5-inch pizza that will cost about $5.95.
How does the machine do it? Each machine will be connected to the Internet, which will monitor its supply level, and contain enough flour, mineral water, sauce and toppings to make about 200 pizzas.
Each machine will offer four varieties of pizza, with both meat and veggie toppings available, and, thanks to an infrared oven, the 'za will come out hot and fresh and ready to scarf in less than three minutes.
Now, of course, the question remains: how good can a pizza made in less than three minutes by a vending machine be? Well, this might be a hint: the Let's Pizza machines are already a hit in Europe, and have been an even bigger success in -- wait for it -- Italy, where they certainly know a thing or two about good pizza.
