Nicole Richie Wants to Help Paris Hilton

Former best friends back together?

Remember back in the day when Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie were best friends forever? Then it seemed that Nicole sunk to the lowest of lows. And then rose to the highest of highs. While Paris remained, well, the same. Now that Paris is in trouble, Nicole wants to help.

It wasn't so long ago Nicole Richie was getting in trouble with the law and illegal substances. But then she totally turned her life around, started a family, and revived an incredible career. Paris Hilton is still just Paris Hilton. Until last week when she was arrested for cocaine possession.

Nicole Richie must see a little of herself in Paris. And she wants to help. According to a source to the National Enquirer, "Nicole and Paris have certainly had their differences over the years, but they've also been close friends. When Paris was busted, Nicole reached out to her and let her know she was there to help her in any way she could... But Nicole can't do that unless Paris is ready to be helped - and right now, she's in denial about her problem... Paris thinks her only problem is a legal one - and that it's going to go away soon thanks to her high-powered Las Vegas attorney David Chesnoff."

If Paris Hilton was smart (which she's probably not), she would accept Nicole's help and get her life back on track. We can't help but wonder if Paris is a little bit jealous of Nicole Richie's successes in her professional and personal life. After all, we know she's totally jealous over another former best friend-- Kim Kardashian. Maybe instead of being jealous, Paris needs to take a page from her former friends' books.

And maybe this cocaine bust will be the wakeup call Paris needs. We kind of doubt it, though.
