Nigerian Man Caught Smuggling $150,000 Worth of Cocaine In...Roasted Chickens
When Authorties Searched The Birds, They Didn't Find Stove Top!
You gotta give him points for creativity. A Nigerian mechanic who hoped to get rich quick by smuggling nearly six pounds of cocaine from Sao Paulo, Brazil was arrested over the weekend at the airport in Lagos.
An interesting story on its own, sure. But the most fascinating part is what he tried to smuggle the drugs in: a set of roasted chickens!
The cooked birds were stuffed with cocaine, then wrapped in aluminum foil. However, it didn't take long for authorities to question why a man would be carrying that much poultry on a transcontinental flight. Once they searched the chickens, it was all over.

Reportedly, he also hid some of the drugs inside the fabric of his suitcase, into the wig worn by his female companion, into his phone charger and into a stethoscope. No word on why an auto mechanic was carrying a stethoscope.
This was like a retirement plan for him," a spokesman for the National Drug Enforcement Agency told the New York Times.
But thanks to his botched plan it looks like he's going to be spending his twilight years behind bars instead.
