Oscars Fashion: Metallics and Soft Colors Ruled (Photos)
Gold, silver, and pink
What happened to all the bright jewel tones we thought would be so big for spring? It was the silvers, golds, and pale colors that ruled on the red carpet last night. And though we thought we'd miss all the bright colors, the metallics and pale pinks definitely worked!
The ladies of the red carpet really were repping the metallics and soft colors last night. And I think everyone looked fabulous. Silvers and golds are super elegant and glitzy and perfect for Oscar night. We did see a few royal blues and reds, but there was a serious lack in the bright colors we saw at the Emmys. Could it be that everyone is trying to look more serious and glamorous at the Oscars?

Which soft-colored dress was your favorite? We loved Anna Kendrick's elegant rose colored Elie Saab and Cameron Diaz looked extra glamorous in her sparkly Oscar de la Renta gown. Queen Latifah's metallic pale pink Badgley Mischka was perfect for her. And though it has a lot of haters, we thought Sarah Jessica Parker's pale yellow Chanel was exactly what we wanted to see her in. Sure, her hair was a little ridiculous, but the dress was a definite yes.
One dress that definitely went against the metallic, soft color trend? Zoe Saldana's ruffly Givenchy. It started off in a sweet pale lavender, but the bottom ruffles were bright and bold purple. And we loved it!
