Panic at the Disco is Splitting in Half
No reason for panic?
When a band is split in half, that's never a good thing. But the two remaining members of Panic at the Disco seem to think they can carry on just fine. So even though the band is splitting in half, they'll still be making music.
The announcement was made on the band's Myspace page yesterday: guitarist Ryan Ross and bassist Jon Walker wrote that they will be "embarking on a musical adventure" of their own. According to them, "Though the four of us have made music together in the past, we've creatively evolved in different directions, which has compromised what each of us want to personally achieve... We are all excited for the future, you should be too"
Panic at the Disco's frontman Spencer Smith and drummer Brendon Urie will remain in the band and confirmed they will be continuing with their summer touring plans, including shows with No Doubt and Blink 182.
We wonder how the breakup occurred as Ross and Walker don't sound very happy via their Twitter accounts. Ross posted a link to the Beatles' "I'm so Tired" and Walker wrote, "So it goes" and then later, "Life goes on within you or without you." However, Smith was quite upbeat with his, "Every little thing is gonna be alright."
Smith and Urie say they're still working on their new album. Do you think they will keep the same sound? And will their lyrics be as clever? Hopefully we don't have to panic about Panic at the Disco splitting up!
