Paris Hilton was proud of that new black-and-silver Chanel purse she showed off on Twitter a while back, but could that photo help to seal her fate when it comes to her recent cocaine arrest? She said that the purse wasn't hers, but it looks just like one she was carrying in July... and one that she showed off on Twitter.

Radar points out that Paris Tweeted "Love My New Chanel Purse I Got Today :)" and included an image of the purse in mid-July, which was followed by paparazzi shots of Paris Hilton with what looks like the same purse.

Paris had previously claimed that the purse was "borrowed" from a friend. When she was stopped by police in Vegas, a small baggie of cocaine fell from the purse she was carrying. As Radar points out, "It could be a stunning blow to Paris' claim that the purse in which cops found cocaine did not belong to her and that she borrowed it from a girlfriend."

I hope that Paris Hilton gets busted if the purse turns out to be the same. She's been getting off rather easy in comparison to Lohan, and even with the Wynn ban, this all feels very lightweight. 1 to 4 years in prison, coming up?

Maybe not. Paris Hilton wasn't given a blood test by the police when she was arrested, which could help her. Obviously, the fact that she's a celebrity is on her side, as well as the amazing lawyer she's going to have. Sigh.
