Party Like It's 1989: 'House of Style' Returning to MTV in October [VIDEOS]
The Revival's Host Will Be Named at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sept. 6
Cindy Crawford, has your phone been ringing? If so, might want to pick it up, because MTV is reviving its iconic fashion TV series House of Style, and we're guessing they're going to want you to be involved.
The 1989-2002 reality show was one of the first TV series to treat fashion seriously (well, sorta), long before the Style Network and Project Runway were regular parts of our pop culture lives, and will return to the MTV airwaves with all new episodes on October 9.

Back in the heyday of the supermodel, Crawford and every major fashion name, from Anna Wintour and Karl Lagerfeld (in his pre-weight loss days) to Helmut Newton and Gianni Versace appeared on the show.
The series, which featured Crawford, Rebecca Romijn, Molly Sims, Daisy Fuentes, Shalom Harlow and Amber Valletta among its hosts, was also packed with celebrity appearances (Duran Duran shopping at Sears! The Beastie Boys introducing their clothing line! Crawford rapping with Will Smith!) and covered lifestyle and trend topics, too.
House of Style was such a pop culture craze that it was even spoofed in the Winona Ryder/Ben Stiller/Ethan Hawke Gen X movie Reality Bites.

MTV will reintroduce the show with an Aug. 7 special called House of Style: Music, Models and MTV, and the show will film during New York Fashion Week in September.
The host for the revamp will be announced on Sept. 6, during the live MTV Video Music Awards broadcast, Styleite.com reports.
Check out some vintage House of Style videos below, including one rather surreal clip in which Foo Fighters and Nirvana guitarist Pat Smear takes the Spice Girls shopping at Contempo Casuals (Victoria Beckham was literally twice as wide as she is now, and she was probably a size 0 even then):
