Remember when everyone was talking about Paula Abdul becoming a judge on So You Think You Can Dance? And how we were all excited about it? Well, it turns out it was never going to happen due to an ongoing fight between Paula Abdul and Nigel Lythgoe.
We're still sitting here wondering what exactly Paula Abdul is going to do next in life. I mean, she can't sit around and cry at seeing Ellen Degeneres in her seat on American idol several nights a week, can she? We were momentarily excited to hear she might be a judge on So You Think You Can Dance, but now those dreams have been bashed too.
According to a source, "Not only has Nigel never contacted Paula's people about doing the show - he's never asked her personally... Nigel knows full well that Paula despises him. They fought constantly when they worked together on Idol. It was like a battlefield, with the two of them always fighting over creative decisions like dialogue between Simon Cowell
and Paula. Nigel had Paula singing the blues on Idol - so she's definitely not up for any dirty dancing."
Well, that's a letdown! And seems kind of strange, considering we remember reading Nigel Lythgoe's Twitter updates about how he was planning on asking Paula Abdul to judge. Maybe he was just trying to up the publicity for his own show? So, we're still completely up in the air about Paula's next step. But I have a feeling it's going to involve her own talk show. The question is, will it last?
