PeeWee Herman stuns Jay Leno with silver ring thing
PeeWee Herman is back! His appearance on The Jay Leno Show last night rocked the crowd as Jay pointed out, "It's been a long time, what's new?"
PeeWee coyly held up his hand, revealing a silver band on his left ring finger. Jay yelled, "Ooh, you got married!" to which PeeWee replied, "Oh no, I didn't get married, it's my abstinence ring. I'm only two days into it...yikes."
Jay Leno doubled over laughing.
Turns out PeeWee is promoting his new stage show, The PeeWee Herman Show, which he says is a throwback to his old TV show, PeeWee's Playhouse. The show will feature a lot of the characters we loved on Saturday mornings in the '80s.
The hilarious exchange reminds us why we've put actor Paul Ruben's 1991 triple-X theater indiscretions behind us -- PeeWee is one of the most lovable characters in history. Some sites are pointing out that signs of Ruben's aging are growing apparent in the PeeWee portrayal, but we don't mind. We'll take the comeback of that adorable simpleton -- chaste or not -- any day.
