Peg Bundy, Sue Sylvester and Princess Leia Set to Roast Roseanne Barr!
Comedy Central Event Set to Air Aug. 12
Now that's a ladies' night we'd like to join! Several of the funniest women in showbiz - including Katey Segal, Jane Lynch and Carrie Fisher - are set to strut their comedic stuff while roasting Roseanne Barr.
Lately, Comedy Central's roasts have been testosterone-heavy affairs. Recent roastees include Charlie Sheen, David Hasselhoff and Hugh Hefner. Their roasters, for the most part, have also been mostly male and the humor, highly fraternity-esque. "Prostitutes cost a lot of money, Charlie," William Shatner joked to Sheen. "Hasn't anyone told you that actresses will sleep with you for free? That's Hollywood 101! You should have called."

As the Master of Cerememonies, Lynch, for her part, says she can't wait for a turn at bat. "I've long fantasized of ripping Roseanne Barr a new one," she said in a statement.
She - as well as the other women - will have plenty of material to work with. Events in Barr's life just begging for skewering: her marriage to Tom Arnold, her infamous rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner," the macadamia farm she runs in Hawaii and her failed Presidential run. Oh, and the small fact that she's ROSEANNE BARR!
