Penelope Cruz Breaks Down in Vogue Interview

Let's say you have to pick one magazine to cry to about your kid: wouldn't you pick Vogue? I would. Penelope Cruz started crying in a recent interview with the magazine, saying that she was totally blindsided by the breakdown.

Us called the gushing "full-on hysterics" when Penelope started crying about her son, Leo.

"Even if you have heard from all your friends and family, 'This is what's going to happen,' until it happens to you, it's hard to understand in your soul."

Cruz, 37, has been quiet about her son, and she plans to keep it that way. While she did a lengthy interview with the magazine and was photographed by Mario Testino, she made it clear that she wants her son to grow up out of the limelight. But that didn't stop her gush session!

"From the first second, you feel so much love. It is a revolutionary experience. That's the best way I can describe it. It transforms you completely, in a second. Nature is very wise and gives you nine months to prepare, but in that moment, when you see that face, you are transformed forever."

I have no doubt that Penelope will keep her private life shaded from the paparazzi as much as possible. She doesn't drive, so it's harder for people to follow her around, although moving to Los Angeles certainly didn't help her maintain her privacy.

"The fact that [my son's] father and I have chosen to do the work that we do doesn't give anybody the right to invade our privacy," Penelope Cruz told Vogue.
