Perez Hilton Would Do 'American Idol' for Free

Perez Hilton has always been his own biggest fan. That's why when you ask him who would be the best replacement for Simon Cowell on American Idol, he just raises his eyebrows and does a little dance while pointing at himself.

Perez figures that if American Idol producers are going to lose their star judge, they might as well replace him with someone who will save them a couple bucks.

"My name has been mentioned several times as a possible replacement for Simon Cowell ... mainly by me," he joked to MTV News. "I've shamelessly been campaigning for the job and I am adamant and I believe I would do a great job. Plus, I'm not even joking, I would work for free the first season. After that, then we can talk about a fair paycheck."

Of course, Hilton likes to keep his options open. He would take anything Cowell gave him.

"I'm not that selective though," he said. "I would just as happily appear on Simon Cowell's X Factor as I would on American Idol."

And it's starting to look like Hilton will have a lot of spare time in the near future. He has reportedly been offered $20 million for his website by a group of celebrity bloggers.
