Peter Facinelli Talks About Twilight
Dr. Carlisle Cullen shares his thoughts
Peter Facinelli, who plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the Twilight movies, opens up about the first Twilight movie, the saga's fan base, and what it's been like filming New Moon. We're always hearing from the movies' younger stars like Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart; now we're ready to hear from the head of vampire coven!
Facinelli says that filming New Moon was easier in many ways than filming the first. "I found there to be a little less pressure because everybody knew their characters. There was less questioning on the set as to what we were doing - we trust that there is a fan-base out there."
The original Twilight was originally planned to be an independent movie and it just happened to get huge. He says, "Our main job with the first one was to make a good movie for the fans... We just didn't know it would explode the way it did. So I think we've carried that feeling along to the second movie." Yup, we think it's safe to say the first Twilight movie "exploded."
But that doesn't mean New Moon was super easy to film. Peter says, "knowing there is a bigger fan-base out there, we do feel some pressure to live up to the first one." That makes sense, but we have a feeling Facinelli, Pattinson, Stewart, and the rest of the crew will have no problem making a second hit.
Facinelli says they'll be beginning filming for the third movie, Eclipse, in August and that he's hoping to sign on for the fouth and final film in the saga, Breaking Dawn.
