Walt Disney Studios announced today that it will be releasing its first Cars spin-off, a direct-to-DVD feature set for Spring 2013 that will be all about airplanes.

According to an official release for the upcoming project, the film will follow a plucky underdog plane named Dusty.

Dusty is "a small town dreamer who longs to enter the most epic around-the-world air race ... despite his fear of heights.  With the help and support of a fleet of new and hilarious characters, Dusty wings his way into the biggest challenge of his life."
