Ben & Jerry's Sues X-Rated Film Makers

Ben & Jerry's is suing mad -- all because a porn company is "tarnishing" the ice cream company's reputation.

Seems an X-rated film company is liberally using what looks like a Ben & Jerry's product packaging image for their DVDs.

Of course, critics are quick to point out that Ben & Jerry's Schweddy Balls and Karamel Sutra flavors weren't doing much to convey a wholesome image.

Still, this is porn. It's totally different territory.

The films use the name "Porno's Best Ben & Cherry's XXX Ice Cream" on their DVDs, with titles that include "Boston Cream Thigh," "New York Fat & Chunky" and "Peanut Butter D-Cup."

Ben & Jerry's filed a trademark lawsuit in the U.S. District Court in Manhattan, claiming the pornographic DVD's tarnish the company name by associating it with XXX films.

The lawsuit described the DVDs as "exploitative, hardcore pornographic films" that used titles and themes based on the Ben & Jerry's "well-known and iconic" flavors.

Further, the lawsuit notes that the films could cause "confusion, mistake or deception."
