Free Lunch for Fido!

Yes, initially, it's probably one of those things you read about and roll your eyes. But read on, because Rachael Ray's food truck for dogs isn't as kooky as it might seem.

It is a food truck that will serve lunch to dogs, and it's food that looks like human food at that, The Village Voice reports. Dishes like "Chicken Muttballs & Pasta," beef stew and "Chicken Paw Pie" are examples of foods from Ray's new wet dog food product line, Nutrish Naturally Delish, so, obviously, the food truck is a promo opp for her.

But while she's ladling up doggie dishes, the daytime TV hostess will also help kick off an animal adoption event for the Best Friends Animal Society, meaning, hopefully, lots of pooches will leave well fed and on their way to happy new homes.

Ray's food truck  will operate in New York City for three days next week: Oct. 18 in Columbus Circle, and Oct. 19 and 20 in Union Square.

By the way, no matter how weird you think the food truck for doggies is, points out that it's not the first one.

In 2010, a British ice cream truck for dogs served up treats like a ham and chicken-flavored sorbet in a cone and a "canine cookie crunch" ice cream with dog biscuits mixed in it.
