Rapper Lil' Phat Murdered
Police currently searching for two suspects who were seen fleeing the crime scene
In a scene that unfortunately seems all too common in the rap industry, a Georgia-based rapper known as Lil Phat was gunned down outside of Northside Hospital in Atlanta on Thursday evening.
Lil Phat, nee Melvin Vernell III, was just 19-years-old. He was best known for Webbie and Lil' Boosie's 2008 hit, Independent, and was signed to Trill Entertainment, a music label that's located in Atlanta.

According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the rapper was sitting in his car in near the Northside Hospital Women's Center, when he was shot multiple times, and later pronounced dead when he was brought into the hospital.
Police are currently searching for two men who were running from the crime scene, and witnesses say that one of the suspects was short and wearing a red shirt, while the other was tall and dressed completely in black.
The parking area where this crime occurred has video surveillance cameras, but there's no word on whether any useful or clear images were recorded by them at this time.
