Red Robin Adds Insanely Hot Ghost Pepper Burgers to Its Menu
The World's Hottest Pepper Comes on the "Fiery Ghost Style" and "Cry Baby Style" Burgers at Red Robin
Any regular viewer of Adam Richman's Man v. Food adventures on the Travel Channel knows about the ghost pepper. It is the world's hottest pepper -- nearly 300 times hotter than a jalapeno -- and many of Richman's food challenges have left him looking red, nauseous and in a lot of pain because they included ghost peppers.
And now, getting a big dose of ghost pepper fire in your belly is readily available to everyone, thanks to Red Robin's new ghost pepper burgers.

The burger chain -- famous for its tricked out gourmet burgers, onion ring tower and bottomless plate of steak fries (not to mention some fun mentions on the USA series Psych) -- has introduced two ghost pepper burgers to its menu:
The Fiery Ghost is a double burger with ghost pepper sauce, pepper jack cheese and fried and fresh jalapenos, while the Cry Baby burger also comes with a double helping of burger patties, as well as ghost pepper ketchup, jack cheese, crispy onions tossed in Sriracha seasoning and more onions sautéed in Cholula hot sauce.
The Huffington Post reports Red Robin is the first casual dining chain to use the ghost pepper on its menu.
"The culinary world has really embraced the chile pepper in a number of ways across the American dining landscape, and we are very excited to offer our guests two distinctly Red Robin approaches to one of the world’s hottest chiles, the ghost pepper," Dave Woolley, executive chef of Red Robin, said in a press release.

Pepper blogger Scott Roberts has already sampled both burgers -- which are available now at Red Robin -- and while he says neither of them are "at the upper end of the heat scale," he deemed them both "tasty burgers, with juicy, succulent meat, and containing the right amount of melted pepper jack cheese," and praised the ghost pepper ketchup of the Cry Baby burger.
His final ratings: 4 out of 5 stars for the overall taste of the Cry Baby burger, though only 2 out of 5 stars for the burger's heat, and 3 out of 5 stars for the overall taste of the Fiery Ghost burger, and 2.5 stars out of 5 for its heat.
