Oprah Approached Celeb Pals for Reality Shows on OWN

It looks like Oprah reached out to some famous pals, hoping to sign them on for reality shows on her OWN network.

Oprah reportedly hoped John Travolta, Tom Cruise or Will Smith would give an inside look into their personal lives that would translate into viewers for OWN.

Looks like they all passed.

It's no secret that Oprah's network isn't doing the bang-up business that she hoped, with a recent report noting that "OWN may have lost as much as $330 million."

Ouch.

The National Enquirer (via Celebitchy.com) reports that Oprah was hoping to get some of her A-lister friends on board, reaching out to Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, Tom Cruise, John Travolta and Kirstie Alley.

A source tells the Enquirer: "Oprah pitched John [Travolta] on the idea of doing a reality series that would focus on him and Kelly Preston raising their new baby. Then she phoned Tom [Cruise], wondered if wife Katie Holmes might be interested in doing a fashion and shopping show."
