Cheese Alert: Fuzzy Slippers, Outdated Decor and Way Too Much Lace Marked the Old School Victoria's Secret

Sure, Victoria's Secret catalogs include a fair number of cheesy photos, but if you have issues with how fashionable (or not) today's catalogs are, wait until you get a load of catalog photos from the 1970s.

Big shout out to Styleite.com for digging up these pics, which find the ladies of VS in the 1970s lounging about in their lacy garments, silk pajamas and furry slippers, with flowers (including baby's breath!) in their hair.

And, as Styleite points out that hindsight is always 20/20 when it comes to fashion, so it is when it comes to home fashions, too. The sets on which the women awkwardly pose include some truly fug rugs, gold lame pillows, hideous potted plants and lace curtains (not to mention an adorable doggy who's so bored with the proceedings that he appears to be sleeping through them).

But back to the fashions, take a look at them for yourself in our slideshow below, but here are our initial thoughts on the retro garb:

-- It's, well, pretty ugly, in general;

-- For lingerie, it includes a lot of fabric. Truly, some of the lingerie of yesterday covers more of the body than the swimwear of today;

-- The photos don't say "1970s" to us as much as they say "I'm on the set of Dynasty";

-- They liked their lace in the '70s. They really, really, really liked their lace;

-- Apparently all the models had just taken Awkward Lingerie Posing 101 at modeling school, because there is not one natural-looking moment in the whole line-up.
