Robert Pattinson Recalls Fighting with Adele

Would you believe that Robert Pattinson once got into a fight with Adele?

In a new interview with Canadian talk show host George Stroumboulopoulos, Pattinson recalls a night of drinking and picking a fight with the famed singer.

At a party they both attended, Pattinson recalled, "I had this argument with Adele, which is probably the most ridiculous thing I've ever said. [I told her] you know, you can really just reach for it!"

Can you imagine? Pattinson apparently felt the need to talk her up, but she said, "You do realize I'm, like, the biggest selling female artist ever."

He added, "And for some reason, I decided to get into an argument with her about it."

While he wouldn't dish on what other words were exchanged, he did say he woke up and was "really, really regretting every word I said."

Pattinson is earning rave reviews for his very non-Twilight role in David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis.

The attention for his role is turning out to be eye-opening, as he explained, "I was in Cannes doing these interviews [for Cosmopolis], and I was really fighting to not look pretentious for years, and then someone gives you one inch of the possibility of being pretentious, and I was, like, grabbing it so hard, going around being the biggest douchebag."

It's good to know that he's "reined it in again" though.
