Robert Pattinson to Build Homes in Louisiana?
Kellan Lutz hints at a Pattinson good deed.
Kellan Lutz is about to pay it forward. To commemorate the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina's devastation, the "Twilight" stud is crediting girlfriend AnnaLynne McCord with getting him involved in a highly-rewarding home-building project in New Orleans...and Lutz says he wants to recruit Robert Pattinson! Get out your toolbelts, boys!
Kellan Lutz just participated in New Orleans' St. Bernard Project, in which he and a team worked non-stop to build five houses in seven days for New Orleans families who needed homes. "We were working around the clock at 50 hours at a time in different shifts," Lutz has told "Us." How'd they do? "We got it done just in time. We had so many people come out and lend a helping hand. It was so touching."
Lutz says that his girlfriend, "90210" princess AnnaLynne McCord, was the one who encouraged him to get involved in the St. Bernard Project: "She really educated me on the need down there," he said. "You don't really grasp what is going on unless you are down there experiencing it."
Kellan Lutz is constantly participating in or promoting philanthropy projects (love him!), and he revealed that he's visiting the Baton Rouge branch of the St. Bernard Project when "Breaking Dawn" starts filming. Thing is, Lutz says, he doesn't want to go alone: "Hopefully I'll be bring some other cast members too."
Um, does that include a sweaty, sexy-laboring Robert Pattinson? "It would be a great surprise for everyone," Lutz laughed. "Although I would have to take video of Rob trying to hammer a nail, he might hurt himself."
