Robert Pattinson's Hair Makes People Cry

Robert Pattinson: Don't mess with perfection.

And did you know Edward Cullen was supposed to have extensions?

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner appear together on the cover of Entertainment Weekly this week. They give a three-way interview that the magazine says is "wild" and "uncensored," and Rob talks a lot about the conceptual dissonance that he and the Twilight hair stylists experience.

Pattinson reveals how strongly the stylists rely on his hair to shape his Edward Cullen character. "I sound so stupid, but in a lot of ways the hair is 75 percent of my performance [in Twilight]," Rob says. "So in the second one I said, 'Listen, I need to tone down the hair. Let's make it a little more real, a little bit more...Method."

But by the time they got to filming Eclipse, the hair was back full-throttle -- and if it wasn't perfect, it caused tears. Rob says he thinks the stylists were maybe too worried about how it looked: "And then in the third one, I'm doing fight scenes and there's a strand going down my forehead and they're like, 'We need to do it again because no one will recognize you! No one will know who it is!' I have to look like the poster at all times. Just in case they want to use any clip for the trailer. Any clip at all! There were about five people in different departments who, because of my forelock, ended up in tears."

It must be the English way to call a male's bangs the "forelock," which makes sense considering that a Twilight stylist once revealed how very English Robert Pattinson is.
