Roseanne For President? Comedian Seeks Green Party Nom
John Goodman For Vice-President?
Roseanne Barr wants to be President. Seriously. The actress, comedian, and reality star said today that she will seek the Green Party nomination to become our nation's next Commander-in-Chief.
Barr, 59, said in a statement that she is officially seeking the party's nomination after deciding she can bring real progress and change to Washington. Unlike those OTHER guys.
"The Democrats and Republicans have proven that they are servants -- bought and paid for by the 1% -- who are not doing what's in the best interest of the American people," Barr said.
Barr, who most recently starred in the reality show Roseanne's Nuts which followed her life on a macadamia nut farm in Hawaii, says she brings both determination and star-power to the table.
"I will barnstorm American living rooms," she said in a candidate questionnaire submitted to the Green Party. "Mainstream media will be unable to ignore me, but more importantly they will be unable to overlook the needs of average Americans in the run-up to the 2012 election."
The Green Party, which has yet to pretend it's taking Roseanne seriously, will select its nominee at a convention in Baltimore in July.
