Russell Brand Attacked a Pap, Arrested

Not even going to judge...

Russell Brand is such a troublemaker, but honestly? The paparazzi are the flies of Hollywood, and sometimes one gets swatted. Unfortunately, this pap-Russell Brand showdown happened in an airport, and a ton of cops swarmed the scene.

Katy's reaction after the arrest was indignant: she wrote that "If you cross the line & try and put a lens up my dress, my fiancé will do his job & protect me."

Of course, we don't think we "need" a guy to defend us, although it was awfully nice of Russell Brand to attempt to protect his fiancee...in theory. He might want to think twice before he does it again, in LAX at least, because he was arrested and charged with battery, only released on a $20,000 bail.

Russell sent a shout-out to fans after the incident, writing on Twitter: "Thanks for your sweet messages of support. After the tips I picked up in chokey [jail] I'm an infinitely more proficient criminal."
