Russell Brand To Meet Katy Perry's Pastor Parents
British wild-child comedian reportedly meeting Katy Perry's conservative Christian fam.
While Katy Perry is notorious for her rebellion against her parents' very strict religious orientation, it's reportedly very important that they approve of the men she dates.
It's said she even wants them to give the thumbs-up to Russell Brand, the wacky English comedian she's said to have been dating since the VMAs last month.
Katy's parents are Evangelical Christian pastors named Keith and Mary Hudson. They raised Katy singing Gospel music until a few years ago when she decided she didn't care to associate with her Christian background and wanted to go her own way.
Apparently the Hudsons are supportive of their daughter's path. They may meet Russell Brand by the end of October in Los Angeles, where Russell and Katy are trying to coordinate their schedules for a "meet the parents" around Katy's hometown just south of L.A. A source told a British paper, "Katy is really keen to get the meeting out of the way early-on, so her and Russ can get on with their relationship without anything hanging over their heads."
We just can't help wondering: after Katy's upbringing, she's sure to feel something always hanging over her...or maybe not, considering the topless text she sent Russell last week.
