'SNL' Announces Three New Cast Members
New 'Saturday Night Live' Cast Members Recruited from Second City
Saturday Night Live has announced the addition of three new cast members joining this season.
No doubt about it, I shed a tear when Kristen Wiig, Andy Samberg and (to a lesser extent) Abby Elliott all announced their departures, and have been waiting for replacements to be announced.
Of course, SNL always sees its fair share of turnover, but when you've got the likes of Wiig and Samberg leaving, it really leaves a hole and makes you wonder if the show will ever be as good again.

Then again, this has been wondered many times over, and then new cast members join the fold and the show carries on.
Keep in mind that I realize there are plenty who say SNL hasn't been good in ages, but I've been a fan through thick and thin, so I'm always willing to give new cast members a try and see what they bring to the table.
Three new cast members were announced, and they're all alums of Chicago's Second City improv theater, to that's not too shabby.
SNL's executive producer, Lorne Michaels, recruited Aidy Bryant, Cecily Strong, and Tim Robinson from Second City.
Jason Sudeikis, who was rumored to be leaving SNL, is expected to return, though there's still question about how long he'll be on board.

Sudeikis will be in high demand for his Mitt Romney impersonation this election season, but given his blossoming film career, I wouldn't expect him to stick around on SNL too much longer.
SNL's season premiere airs September 15 with host Seth MacFarlane and musical guest Frank Ocean.
