Sacha Baron Cohen to Play Freddie Mercury in Biopic
Freddie Mercury Bio Movie Coming in 2014
Talk about some excellent casting, Sacha Baron Cohen will play Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in a biopic set for a 2014 release.
Baron Cohen, who's most known for his outrageous characters, like Borat and Bruno, is an immensely talented dramatic actor as well. He's showcased his singing abilities in Sweeney Todd: The Demon of Barber Street and sings in the upcoming movie version of Les Miserables as well.

Throw in the fact that he bears a physical resemblance to Mercury, and it's encouraging that he will transform quite nicely into the Queen singer.
Queen guitarist Brian May has confirmed that the Mercury biopic is moving ahead, with shooting to happen in spring 2013 and the movie's release set for 2014.
May wrote on his website:
"The pieces are all falling into place, though we are now on a slightly later schedule -- filming is now scheduled to start in the Spring, with Sacha Baron Cohen playing Freddie. The film should be ready for release early in 2014."

The film will follow Queen's early years through to their 1985 Live Aid performance. Sadly, Mercury died due to complications from AIDS in 1991.
What do you think of Baron Cohen as Mercury? Think Adam Lambert's jealous?
