Since 2009's "The Proposal," thousands of us have wanted to see Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds in a real-life romance. Friends, 2011 may be our lucky year: Sandy and Ryan spent New Year's Eve together in Austin. Here are details.

What becomes of a 34-year-old adorable actor after he's named 2010's Sexiest Man Alive...and then is dumped by his wife? Well, looks like he becomes the close confidante of an Oscar-winning actress who's 12 years his senior and his former co-star. Yep, Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock -- who both announced divorces in 2010 -- spent a quiet New Year's Eve together to kick off the fresh start that is 2011.

Word has it Sandra, 46, invited Ryan to dinner at her restaurant, Bess Bistro, in downtown Austin. The restaurant is known for its sweet ambience, sophisticated wine list and progressive fusion menu. The whole shebang sounds like a pretty romantic way to ring in the new year...but as it turns out, Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds didn't dine alone. (Dang!)

Sources say Sandra invited some other pals along to her New Year's Eve celebration; and while this sounds like one plainly platonic party, sources say the crowd got down. After toasting to 2011 at midnight, they danced non-stop until two in the morning...and that's when it gets good. A witness is quoted saying that Bullock and Reynolds "were spotted leaving the restaurant together at 2 a.m."
