Sarah Michelle Gellar Talks Motherhood
Sarah Says Waiting Was Worth It
Sarah Michelle Gellar's happy she waited to have a kid. She recently did an interview with her husband Freddie Prinze Jr., spilling all the reasons why waiting was the right thing to do for her and her honey. Curious what those reasons were, and why Freddie agreed with nearly every one? Read on!
"I always say, the minute you start dating someone, people ask, 'When are you getting engaged?' And the minute you get engaged, they ask, 'When are you getting married?' " Sarah told PEOPLE. "And then the minute you get married, they ask, 'When are you having a baby?'"
While it was a seven-year wait for the couple to have their kid, both Freddie and Sarah Michelle say that it was a good one. "Becoming a parent is the most selfless act, and you need to be at a point in your life where you can give up anything and everything for a child," she said. "I don't know if you know how to that when you're in your 20s."
Freddie chimed in with "I'm so happy we didn't have kids in our 20s – I just didn't know a thing. You have so much more patience in your 30s, and I feel like I appreciate this so much more." Sarah is 32 and Freddie is 33.
We love nothing more than a happy Hollywood couple. They are a rare breed, after all!
