Sarah Palin Defends Rush Limbaugh Saying "Retard"
One week after comparing the word "retard" to the N word.
Sarah Palin suddenly has changed her tune on what's politically incorrect. One week after Facebook-criticizing President Obama's Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel for using the phrase "f---ing retarded" to describe, Palin, whose youngest son was born with Down syndrome, is suddenly backing down to conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh.
Just one week after Palin posted on her Facebook page that she found Emanuel's retard comment pointed at opponents of Obama's policies to be "beneath the dignity of the White House," she's dismissing Rush Limbaugh's recent use of the word "retard" to describe liberal jokes as a silly little joke. "Rush Limbaugh was using satire," Palin said in an interview with Fox News Sunday. "I didn't hear Rush Limbaugh calling a group of people whom he did not agree with 'f-ing retards,' and we did know that Rahm Emanuel, as has been reported, did say that. There is a big difference there."
But in both cases, the word "retard" was used derogatorily -- so why isn't Sarah Palin challenging Rush Limbaugh? Is she so right-wing friendly that she'll let such an un-P.C. comment be swept under the rug? Regardless of party, the phrase is offensive and not suitable for use by any professional in any public forum.
Is the word "guido" any better? That debate has settled down in this era of Jersey Shore lore. Read about Snooki's new boyfriend, whom she refers to as a "guido juicehead." What a catch!
