Sarah Palin Memoir Rushed For Nov. 17 Release
Going Rogue to see 1.5 million copies in first print; taking advantage of holiday sales.
Sarah Palin's book deal was announced just four months ago -- and already the story is written. Palin's around-the-clock work with HarperCollins is for good reason...
The publisher will put out a whopping 1.5 million copies of the book, Going Rogue: An American Life in its first print, a massive number for even a world-renowned publisher like HarperCollins. The Ted Kennedy book True Compass had a first print of 1.5 million, and weeks after its release it sits high on every bestseller list.
Palin, 45, reportedly worked for days on end with her editor to speed up publication of the 400-page book. It was originally scheduled for a spring 2010 release but the publisher moved up the on-sale date by months -- a big deal in the book world -- presumably to take advantage of holiday sales. The e-book version of Going Rogue won't go on sale until after the holidays, as the publisher says they want to see the hardcover sell first.
What's in the book? Details are vague at this point, but the title makes reference to accusations Palin received during John McCain's campaign that she wasn't obeying his strategy. Harper publisher Jonathan Burnham says Going Rogue is "...her words, her life, and it's all there in full and fascinating detail." We'll find out soon enough, we guess.
