Sarah Palin on Jay Leno: Now Doing Standup? (VIDEO)
Sarah Palin goes casual, comedic and even more multimedia on Tonight Show.
Does Jay Leno know what he's doing or what? It's his first week back on The Tonight Show, and the most controversial woman in American, Sarah Palin, made an appearance Tuesday night, dressed down in jeans and a blazer for an eight-minute interview. Palin also stood up for a standup routine, and her apparent ease is making some people...uneasy.
Sarah Palin's comedy routine on Jay Leno was actually kind of funny -- but most notable is the abolute comfort she felt making jokes to the audience. Palin's a master at self-deprecation and clearly has practice working a live crowd. Is Fox going to try to make her funny now? (Maybe they should mediate Palin's fight with Glenn Beck first.)
And in the eight-minute interview in which Leno sat her down, Palin says she got her non-conformist attitude from her parents. She also said that the humorous scandal that found her with ink on her hand during a recent talk stemmed from a trick she took from her dad, a science teacher, who often gave lectures with the help of a crib sheet on his palm.
What was on Sarah Palin's hand? She told Jay Leno it was "three things that represent solutions to challenges in America": energy independence, tax cuts and lifting American spirit. Palin said she'll keep writing on her hands because it appears to wind up Democrats.
