Sign Up For Faithbook

Jeff Foxworthy has made a career of asking dumb questions, but his latest show aims to get at something deeper than a 5th grader's grasp of geometry. GSN's new American Bible Challenge features the redneck comedian guiding game-players through a quiz show of biblical proportions.

The new game show tests viewers' knowledge of the bestselling book of all time, while mixing in current pop culture so the whole thing doesn't feel like Sunday school.

That means several thrilling rounds of game show ingenuity, including one called "Faithbook," in which contestants try to identify biblical characters based on their fake Facebook status updates.

While all that might sound like a riveting hour of television entertainment to you and me, critics haven't been so excited. The Washington Post, for example, called the show "about as dull as it sounds."

But in the end, there's only one critic that matters: Jesus. And what would He do? He'd probably watch The American Bible Challenge when it premieres Thursday on GSN at 9 pm EST.

I had not known about the bible challenge until tonight 9/16/12 cst. the question was askedre: the smartest or wisest animal in the Bible {Please do not quote me exactly because Jeff goes so fast that I may get the words no exact, however you will get the point i am trying to make} The correct answer was locust, ant and lizard which the verse could be found in Acts chapt 2. If you will open your Bible and read Acts chpt 2 you will not find any such thing there. My point is if you are going to air this show please at least do not misquote the word of God. You show could be a decent show if it was toned down. To much honky tonk in it for my taste and the Lords as well I am sure. Nice idea though since it is a Christian show not a nasty dirty sleaze film. I thank you for that much.

To Reanne West - you got your questions confused. The question about Acts 2 was the previous question, where they asked about the nationalities mentioned in Acts 2 and the three correct answers (out of six choices) were Romans, Arab, and Egyptians. The question about the small but wise animals (where the correct answers were ants, lizards, locusts) was from Prov 30.
