Simon Cowell Leaving American Idol According to Brother

Yes, we've heard this a million times. It seems as though every single year, Simon Cowell threatens to leave American Idol. But this time his brother is saying it. Do you think it's really true?
Simon Cowell's brother is saying the judge will be announcing his leave from American Idol sometime in the next few weeks. Simon will finish out this upcoming season of the show, but then he's saying so long.
According to Tony Cowell, "Meanwhile, Simon prepares for a new season of Idol, or should I say his last season of Idol - OK, I will [say it], because it is... a press statement is being prepared which will confirm what everyone expected: Simon will leave Idol at the end of 2010 to concentrate on bringing the American version of The X Factor to US TV in 2011."
Since we heard similar rumors last week, we're starting to think it really must be true. Plus, Tony and Simon are close and it sounds like they talk a lot. I'm just wondering if we'll all think The X Factor is a good substitute for American Idol or if it will have a problem catching on.
With Paula Abdul gone and Simon Cowell likely leaving next, the show will fall apart, right? I really can't see producers continuing American Idol without their top two judges!
